Musisi EDM asal Swedia yang tengah menanjak namanya, Alesso,
tengah bekerja keras merampungkan album debutnya. Meski begitu, tidak
menghalanginya untuk merilis single baru untuk album tersebut. Yang
terbaru adalah Heroes (We Could Be yang mengajak rekan senegaranya yang juga sedang menjulang karirnya, Tove Lo.
Dalam single berbalut progressive house ini, Alesso dan Tove Lo mengajak
para pendengarnya untuk menjadi pahlawan. Dan bukan. Lagu ini bukan
remake dari hits klasik Heroes milik David Bowie meski di bagian chorus
terdengar mirip secara notasi. Tidak mengherankan karena memang lagu
yang ditulis oleh Alesso dan Tove Lo ini memamang mengambil sampel lagu
yang ditulis Bowie bersama dengan Brian Eno tersebut.
Kekuatan dari Heroes (We Could Be) tidak melulu dari hook yang catchy di bagian chorus saat Tove Lo menyanyikan “we could be heroes!”
secara berulang. Tapi juga bagian verse yang dinyanyikan dalam melodi
manis yang memikat pendengaran. Dibuka dengan lirik seperti “We go
hideaway in daylight / We go undercover when under sun / Got a secret
side in plain sight / Where the streets are empty / That’s where we
run”, Heroes (We Could Be) sudah memancing perhatian. dan diatas ini adalah kunci gitar beserta lirik lagunya,,,
